7:00 p.m.     LAURA POWERS

At the age of 16, Laura Power has already compiled an impressive resume. She has opened for major country artists, recorded her self-titled debut album with famed Nashville producer Charlie Craig and performed during CMA's Fest Week and she's not stopping there.

Laura was born and raised in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada along with eight younger siblings and has been singing almost since the day she was born. Her mother says even her cries as a baby had a melody and by the age of nine she wanted to take vocal lessons. By the age of 13, she was singing at local festivals, jamborees and nursing homes and by the age of 15 she added guitar playing to her repertoire and is now learning piano. She began performing as a solo artist as well as shows with her band.

Her talents with a song soon caught the ear of EMI Publishing's and Nashville Producer Charlie Craig who produced Laura's first EP in 2007. He then went on to produce herself titled debut album with musicians from Lee Ann Womack's band, Billy Ray Cyrus's band and one of George Jones back up singers in 2009. The album includes Laura's first original recorded song, Laura's “Something More”.

Being fearless, determined and setting her goals high, Laura opened for Michelle Wright at the 2008 Palmer Rapids Country Jamboree to a huge audience and a grand reception as well as rave reviews. She then headed to Nashville to appear at many well known venues during CMA Fest Week.

Laura's future continues to feel bright. She loves that she can write what's in her heart and what's on the mind of many young women today. She has a story to tell in a sincere way and you can hear that in her lyrics, her approach and her voice. She's young, approachable, bright and fun and knows where she's headed. The whole world is in for a big treat.

8:00 p.m.   SHARI LYNN

Born in Barrie ON Canada , Shari Lynn grew up listening to many different styles of music. Over the years, Shari was able to develop herself as a performer having started out in a tribute band traveling and performing across Canada and the USA at casinos, bars as well as headlining fairs and festivals of up to 32,000 people.

Her success with her tribute band soared in 2003 when Shania Twain was so impressed with Shari, that she invited Shari onstage with her at the ACC in Toronto in front of 18,000 fans. A short time after, CTV invited Shari to be a special guest on Canada AM with Shania Twain co-hosting the show. Ultimately in 2007 while Shari began recording her debut album, Shania Twain requested Shari Lynn to perform for her family in Gogama ON just outside of Timmins . "It was a big honor that Shania wanted me to perform for her family and getting started as a tribute artist was a great learning experience and a stepping stone for who I am today."

2009 proved to be an exciting year for Shari as she continued to climb the Canadian country music ladder and was signed to a distribution deal with Louis O'Reilly of 306 Records/EMI Music Canada landing her debut album titled ‘Can You Cut It?' in stores July 14, 2009. Shari was interviewed by Casey Clarke for the Chevy Cross Canada Countdown on CMT, toured Western Canada and Ontario as well as appeared in many newspaper articles and did many radio interviews. The CCMAs highlighted Shari's talent by printing an article and had it featured on their website for the month of July raving about Shari 's musical climb with ‘CCMA On The Horizon With Shari Lynn'. The article quotes, “The CCMA quickly found that many people in the industry will attest to her undeniable talent.” Not too shabby for a debut album to be working with the likes of award winning producers Helio 'Allan' Coelho (TAPPS/The Macarena) and Tom McKillip (Aaron Pritchett/Lisa Brokop/One More Girl) and mixed by award winning engineers L. Stu Young (Prince) and Kevin Churko (Shania Twain/Ozzy Osbourne.) The album also includes much sought after musicians John Dymond, Wendell Ferguson, and Jorn Andersen, as well as Randle Currie and Justin Williamson, who are currently on tour with Brad Paisley.

9:00 p.m.     JAMIE WARREN

I'm comfortable with who I am, one year away from fifty. I say bring it on. I will not go quietly into the night or onto a compact disc. My wish for the world is less talking and more listening.... start with this record. And say as a mantra, "Where's the Love?" ......Inspiring words from Jamie Warren, upon the release of his sixth album, "Howl at the Moon".

Jamie lives in Kitchener-Waterloo, but was raised in Hanover Ontario, where he pursued an adolescent dream of playing hockey professionally in the NHL, with music as a background distraction. When he realized that his natural abilities for singing and playing guitar might make it easier to attract the attention of girls, he hung up his blades. It was a logical progression for a sensitive guy who wrote poetry and short stories throughout his high school years.

His interest in music was likely genetic, since his mother sang and played piano, and his father played guitar and mandolin. Jamie had piano lessons at age 5 and guitar lessons at age 8, and by the time he was 10 years old, it was traditional for the Warrens to entertain after Saturday night eukre games (a Canadian card-game institution) in their smoke-filled basement. His earliest influences were whatever his parents listened to on the radio, and the only thing his parent’s radio seemed to play was country music. To this day, he’s still a huge fan of Merle Haggard, Tammy Wynette and Patsy Cline. Later, in high school, his best friend’s older brother’s record collection exposed him to celebrated vocal groups like The Eagles, America, Poco and CSNY. Lately, he feels an affinity for Texas singer-songwriters like Radney Foster, Lyle Lovett and Rodney Crowell.

Attending Conestoga College to study Broadcasting, Jamie’s goal was to become the youngest general manager of a mid-market radio station, but he emerged with a desire to sing for a living. What changed his mind? Jamie won a regional talent show at London Ontario’s Western Fair, which sent him to Memphis Tennessee for an international competition, where he placed second. Jamie remained in Memphis, pondering his career potential as a singer while he worked a one-year gig at Libertyland Theme Park. He still feels a connection to the city that started it all for him, thinking of Memphis like a gentle woman who taught him how to love.

Returning to Canada, he began an association with producer J. Richard Hutt, who produced “Right Here Right Now” and all of Jamie’s previous recordings, but who initially engaged Jamie as a singer for jingles he produced out of his Kitchener-based CedarTree Studios. “I didn’t have a clue what I was doing” says Jamie, “but Rick had a lot of patience”. He must have learned something from the experience, because his first Top Ten hit came shortly thereafter, with “Take Me Home Mississippi” and subsequently, a win as New Artist of The Year at the 1985 RPM Big Country Awards.

Five more singles were released from that album but Jamie’s particular style of country didn’t sit well with either ‘80’s country radio or the Nashville labels he almost convinced to sign him (they passed on Jamie in favour of a fellow named Randy Travis). In the interim, he got married and had two kids, playing locally in small clubs to pay the bills.

In 1993, Jamie was convinced that both radio and Nashville might have relaxed enough to make room for him again, and he released “Fallen Angel” on River North/Mercury Records, which yielded an enduring fan favourite and radio hit, “One Step Back”. The success of this record was followed closely and even more impressively, by the album “Just Not The Same”, which surrendered several Top Ten singles and lead to a handful of JUNO and CCMA nominations in multiple categories. Since then, Jamie released the critically acclaimed “Really” in 2003, and a career retrospective collection of greatest hits in 2005 under the title “Make Me Believe”. In 2008, Jamie released the very personal "Right Here Right Now".
