FAMILY STAGE … SPECIAL GUEST BIO

Award-winning musician Jake Differ's lyrics make children laugh or dream, but they’re never simplistic. His rhythms make little feet dance, but they’re rich and varied, and borrow from many different musical styles. You can sing along with his melodies, but they’re fresh and new. Jake’s CDs are much acclaimed in the children’s music world. Jake’s latest album, ZIGGY ZAGGY ROAD, which won a 2008 Parents’ Choice Recommended Award, is no exception. The album touches with joy and sensitivity on the many things that children love and grown-ups cherish: home, friends, animals, tales of adventure – in fact, everything wonderful about life on this planet. Jake has been a professional bass player, guitar player and singer for most of his adult years, and began writing music and recording children’s music several years ago. Visit www.musicbyjake.com

Several groups in Greater Sudbury are teaming up restock the Sudbury Food Bank's shelves, and raise awareness of the organization.
Sudbury Food Bank Awareness week will run between June 10 and June 19. The proclamation was read by Mayor Marianne Matichuk outside Tom Davies Square June 10.
Matichuk said about 14,000 Sudburians rely on the food bank every month.
“The success of those food banks depends largely on your generous contributions,” she said. “By participating in events, donating food, money or time, your support is always appreciated.”
