FAMILY STAGE … SPECIAL GUEST BIO

Award-winning musician Jake Differ returns for his 3rd year at Blues For Food.  His lyrics make children laugh or dream, but they’re never simplistic. His rhythms make little feet dance, but they’re rich and varied, and borrow from many different musical styles. You can sing along with his melodies, but they’re fresh and new.  Jake’s CDs are much acclaimed in the children’s music world. Jake’s latest album, ZIGGY ZAGGY ROAD, which won a 2008 Parents’ Choice Recommended Award, is no exception.  The album touches with joy and sensitivity on the many things that children love and grown-ups cherish:  home, friends, animals, tales of adventure – in fact, everything wonderful about life on this planet. Jake has been a professional bass player, guitar player and singer for most of his adult years, and began writing music and recording children’s music several years ago.  Visit www.musicbyjake.com

MAIN STAGE … SPECIAL GUEST BIO

After 16 years, 33 band incarnations, and the release of his 7th CD in 2008, Jake Thomas has finally put together the right musicians with the right music at the right time.  Inspired by Delta Blues, Chicago Blues, R&B, and West Coast Swing, Jake and The Fundamentals deliver their own edgy and raw style of blues that gets dancers dancing and listeners listening.  Always entertaining and soulful, their live shows are high energy events with the emphasis on rocking the night away.  Catch Jake and The Fundamentals live and see what the buzz is all about!
