Serendipity day spa on Durham has been open for 3 years in the downtown, but Monique Lacasse is no stranger to business downtown. Having a history in opening and running successful spas in Sudbury, it was natural for Monique to open Serendipity Day Spa in July of 2013.
Before you even enter the waiting room, you are transported. The hallway is quiet, and lined with rooms ready for clients. Soft music is playing, and in the background you hear the tinkling of a fountain. Two young woman are happily chatting with an specialist as they get a double pedicure. Instantly, the relaxation starts to seep in.
Which is exactly the mood Serendipity is trying to set.
Most spas are relaxing, that is part of their draw. What sets Serendipity apart is that while you can choose to enjoy treatments(Massage, Manicure, Pedicure, etc) on your own, the spa can accommodate up to 8 people from a single party. As well, the spa offers a ‘Service a Deux’ package that is a popular option for couples. Understanding that visiting a spa should be an experience, not an appointment.
