Downtown Sudbury
Accessibility Statement
The Downtown Sudbury BIA is committed to a website that everyone in our community can use — regardless of ability or the technology they rely on.
[Content to be finalized by BIA staff]This statement is a working draft. Legal wording, conformance dates, and the third-party accessibility audit reference must be reviewed and approved by BIA administration before publication.
This Accessibility Statement applies to the Downtown Sudbury BIA public website at downtownsudbury.com. It describes our ongoing commitment to digital accessibility and explains how to reach us if you encounter a barrier.
Our commitment
The Downtown Sudbury Business Improvement Area is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to all of our online services.
We design and develop this website in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, which require public-facing websites to meet recognized international accessibility guidelines.
- Clear, consistent navigation and page structure on every screen.
- Text alternatives for images, icons, and other non-text content.
- Colour contrast and text sizing that remain legible across our day-to-night “Vibe Shift” themes.
- Full keyboard operability and visible focus indicators for every interactive element.
- Content that works with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
Conformance status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological differences.
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content may not yet fully meet the standard. We are actively working to identify and resolve any remaining issues, and accessibility is reviewed as part of every release.
Accessible formats available on request

We will work with you to provide the information in a way that meets your needs in a timely manner and at no additional cost.
