Downtown Clean-Up Program
Keeping the community clean while providing opportunities to those in need.
Our downtown clean-up program serves a dual purpose: not only does it help us maintain a clean and welcoming space for everyone, but it also provides individuals with an opportunity to earn an honorarium to support them in their financial situations. This initiative is designed to offer the less fortunate a chance to generate income while instilling in them a sense of purpose and responsibility within the community. By participating in the clean-up efforts, individuals not only contribute to the beautification of our downtown area but also gain valuable skills and experiences that can positively impact their lives.
DSBIA x YMCA
A partnership between The Downtown Sudbury BIA and The Durham Street Y, part of the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario, our Downtown Clean Up Program has two main goals:

To clean up and maintain the cleanliness of our communal downtown spaces.

To start developing a program to give zero-barrier volunteer options, life skills and purpose to some of our community's most at-risk residents.
