About

A Business Improvement Area (BIA) is a defined district within a city where local businesses collaborate to improve their economic environment.

This collective effort is funded through a special levy that property owners and businesses within the area agree to pay. The funds raised are then used to finance a variety of initiatives aimed at enhancing the business environment, increasing foot traffic, and promoting the district as a premier destination for shopping, dining, and services. All 90+ property owners and 400+ businesses that own or lease property within Downtown Sudbury are members. On their behalf, Downtown Sudbury is proactive in terms of programs and the promotion of area interests.
